Garth Haslem is a structural engineer by day, and a podcaster/writer/web site builder/whatever is needed by night. Garth is a grandpa of 12 super awesome kids, and is known in certain circles as Super papa. He has written six books and is well published.
Frank is the Greek Freak - part 2. While his basketball skills are not quite as legendary as that other guy, that other guy definitely doesn't do SEO, Google, web site building and videography like Frank. So maybe they're even.
Nathan Shepardson is a dad and a recovering addict. Ask him and he'll tell you what kind of addiction he has dealt with. Here's a clue - pretty much all of us have dealt with that one. Nathan is key to making everything happen.
I am a man and these are my brothers.
I need them and they need me.
I address my brothers with love
I honor their vulnerable expressions
I trust enough to be vulnerable with them
I love enough to invite my brothers to grow
What is said between brothers is spoken in a sacred trust
Within the bounds of the law, confidences shared here are secure
My brothers have my full emotional, physical, spiritual and social support
I am a man, and these are my brothers.
That declaration you see above? That's our guiding document. We build our tribe meetings into safe places. Safe enough to talk about porn, loneliness, abuse, divorce and suicide. It's even safe enough for men to be honest to each other..
There are other men's groups that use substances for healing. We don't do that. We're straight up help-each-other kind of guys. The healing is in the man, and in the men. In our tribes, you'll be heard and understood. Healing follows hearing.
Once a month, we get together and listen deeply to a man and his darkness. He opens up completely and is asked questions until he feels he is heard. Then, every man does his best to help him. It's healing for everyone.
We don't quibble with words - every man is a man. The writer, the engineer, the business owner, the podcaster and the weightlifter are no more or less a man than anyone else. We all have hard, and we all help each other through it.
